About Us
Mary Waugh Swindell
Mary's formal education is in human Psychology with an undergraduate degree from the Univerity of Dallas and a Masters from Duquesne University and postgraduate work in Bioethics.
Through different states and different degrees, her love of training dogs was her constant, and eventually became the dominant drive in her life and in her career.
Together with the support of her husband and son, Dancing Dogs went from being a full time hobby to a full time career. Their house has shared dogs from both breeders and rescue organizations. Along the way the accolades have been many, with Championships in Agility and Rally in AKC, ASCA, NACAD, and USDAA , titles in obedience, lure coursing, barn hunt and dock diving, and many hours of performance in Freestyle, and Therapy Dogs.
Mary is an ASCA Rally judge, and is certified to judge the AKC's Canine Good citizen tests, Farm Dog Certifications and Trick Dog titles. You can see Mary and Devon on Animal Planet's Breed All About it

River Song
River is an amazing girl with tons of drive, who will chase a ball all day long and never stop. It's only better if the ball can be in the water. She loves to dock dive, do agility, lure course or do anything that involves running. She is a workaholic and the mother of our 2019 and 2022 litters. Many of her titles were finished even while pregnant! We hope that gives her pups a leg up!
River has been a qualifier for the AKC Rally National Championship several years in a row.

Doberman Pinscher 2/2019
Gambit is a River x Devon son from our 2019 "Days of Future Past " litter. He is a handsome dog who loves to retrieve and is forever looking around for trinkets to trade for treats. He adores agility, obedeince and lure coursing and is just starting his competative career. Gambit qualified for his first AKC Rally National Championship in the inception fo their virtual Rally program during the COVID competition year 2020, and went on to a 6th place win in his first National event. We look forward to seeing more great things from this young man as he works towards his Championships in both AKC and ASCA

Shiner - English Shepherd 6/2010 retired
Shiner came from humble beginnings as a puppy into National English Shepherd Rescue and has been an absolutely amazing partner. Everything we have asked of Shiner she has done, and done with style, from herding goats and chickens at home to kicking tail and taking names in agility and rally with 5 different championships across 3 different venues. Shiner has qualified many times over for both the AKC National Championship in both agility and rally (often in the same year!) and has always given us everythign she's got! She is one of the hardest working, smartest dogs I have ever met.
Cynder Doberman Pinscher 1/2009
Cynder is a blue Doberman who came to us from Doberman Rescue of North Texas in 2014. She is a snuggler and a homebody who prefers to sunbathe on the back patio and curl up on the sofa and watch a good movie with a belly rub. She is a quiet soul who often works with us in private lessons to help bring shy dogs out of their shell, and introduce new puppies to kind, gentle adult dogs.
