Dancing Dogs

The Tweener Class

The Tweener Class

Saturday Mornings at 9:15 am

Tuesday evenings at 7 pm (May) and 7:30 pm (June-August)

This class is for or students who have successfully trained all of the obstacles and are working on sequencing, handling and course skills.  Students will learn how and when to use front and rear crosses.  Distance handling skills and obstacle discrimination will also be developed.  Weave poles are still partially open and dogs are learning full height jumps and contacts including the teeter.Affectionately referred to as the "Tweeners" these young dogs are working sequences shorter than competition sequences to give handlers more of an opportunity to redirect and reward.  Working on focus through the obstacles?  Sniffing, Zoomies?  Not quite ready for the full Novice course and showing experience yet? Then this class might be for you.

To move to the Novice class, dogs must

·         be working on closed Weave Poles fluidly (no handler assistance)

·         Working full height contact obstacles with target behaviors (no lures)

·         Sequencing 5-7 obstacles successfully
